How does one navigate the deep waters of the digital world?

I would like to introduce my company founded with good friends of mine Jean and Andrew - Kompass.

It is a lot harder to get where you want to go without good directions and an accurate roadmap…

And that is where a Kompass comes in handy!

The world is constantly evolving. Technology and social developments force your organisation to continually adapt. In this ever-changing context, you will require sharp positioning and a clear route to stand out.

Hiszpanka

Finally I can say that I have participated in Polish cinematic production!

'Hiszpanka' will be screening on January 23rd 2015. It is a story about the key events of the Wielkopolska Uprising - a dramatic arrival of Ignacy Jan Paderewski in Poznan, and the people who prepared the uprising, fought in it and won.

I had an honor to work with artists from Platige Image on a matte painting for the film. Shots that I worked on are at 00:13 and 00:58 mark in the linked teaser ( below ).

CG Hub successor

Let's support Shakuro Group - the creators of CG Hub . In my experience CG Hub was unparalleled in featuring cg art and rising talent. The simplicity of navigation made cruising through the site intuitive and selection of content gave me personally incredible amount of inspiration. I found people like Sparth and James Paick through that site. Hopefully something even better is coming from those guys. Check this out: Kickstarter CG HUB 2

Speed Painting

Road To Isengard - speed painting theme from Facebook group Super Speedpainting Funtimes.

I started with creating lasso selections for each layer of trees and branches. I also pre-created tower selection in the BG. After that was ready painting time was around an hour. I locked layers transparency for accurate edges painting. Custom brush was used for the leaves. Painting time of the final ( attached ) version was 2.5h. The last stage on the progress gif image was prepared at 1h mark.

My inspiration was work of impressionists, also - for a long time I haven't gone so mad with color :)

Speed painting - 50min

My first entry to the Facebook group Super Speedpainting Funtimes. Normally sci-fi is not my cup of tea but excelling as concept artist means one should challenge their comfort zone - I am quite happy with the result I must say. I'd like to come back to this and spend additional hour or more to get it just right.
I spent some time figuring out the composition and getting some assets ready but painting time was around 50 min. Main stages indicated on gif. Painted in Photoshop.

The third attachment is a final version with few more additions - total time spent 2h.

Kreola update

Currently working on my Reel 2014 and decided to revisit Kreola CG Society competition matte painting. I did not get to model all I wanted and important elements got left out or were simplified due to lack of time. So here you go, final version with new foreground bridge and few other additions. Break down coming up in my new reel.

Speed painting - Twisted Tree

New year and new energy for painting arrived. I decided to join 'Spitpaint' group on Facebook where artists share their visions of current subjects. Great way to do daily practice and exchange comments on speed painting techniques.

Subject on 28th of January - 'Twisted Tree', painting in Photoshop in 30 minutes. Some custom brushes used, no photograph textures

Process ( saved in ~5 minutes intervals )
